CalicoLoco began as the bedroom project of Chicago based Singer-Songwriter Danny Robles, where they combined a jangly and dreamy lofi aesthetic with quirky lyrics covering topics ranging from horror films to Virginia Woolf to gender identity. However, towards the latter half of 2020, the project was rebooted with the help of bassist Xavier Morla, keyboardist Sarah Dodge, and guitarists Curran Chapman and Zeke Ramsey to elevate their music from simple bedroom recordings to a fuller lush sound that has been described by critics as ‘as the sonic equivalent of a bedazzled denim jacket.’ CalicoLoco will continue releasing monthly singles throughout 2021, with catchy upcoming songs ranging from warm cozy ballads to bombastic glitzy anthems.
